I set up an Internet broadcast station that streams WFNX Boston off the radio in my bedroom and onto the Internet, so that I don't have to deal with WFNX's terrible-quality stream when I don't have a radio near me.

So it's set up like this: I have software running on "Old PC" that takes the input from the stereo line, digitizes it, and streams it over the Internet so that I can listen to it anywhere I can get a Wi-Fi connection.

Oh, sweet! But does that mean anyone can listen to that?

Technically yes, but I barely have enough bandwidth available to allow just anybody to do that.
If somebody has the patience to portscan me and figure out how I'm broadcasting, then they deserve to listen. Normally I just don't give out the stream URL so that people can't go listen as they please.
